Who was Walter von Loë?
Friedrich Karl Walter Degenhard, Baron Walter von Loë, was a Prussian soldier and aristocrat. Loë had the distinction of being one of the few Roman Catholics to reach the rank of Generalfeldmarschall, or field marshal.
