Who is Walther Berthold Raster?

Walther Berthold Raster was an American engineer and inventor.

Raster was born in Chicago on 29 August 1875, the son of German-American Editor Hermann Raster.

In 1906, Raster founded the Justrite Manufacturing Company with Frederick Becker. The company developed, patented and produced industrial safety and waste storage equipment. Justrite became the largest manufacturer of miners' lamps in the US.

Raster patented a number of inventions, including a series of receptacles for oil waste.

He died on 13 January 1944.
