Who is Wolfgang Peters?

Wolfgang Peters is a West German slalom canoer who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He won two gold medals in the C-1 event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, earning them in 1967 and 1969.

Peters also finished fifth in the C-1 event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

His daughter, Violetta, won a bronze in the women's K-1 event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing representing Austria.
