Yu-San Moon

Who is Yu-San Moon?

Yu-San Moon is an American conceptual cartoonist. He lives in Manchester, New Hampshire, and is currently involved with American novelist James Marcoff in a variety of unannounced projects. Yu-San discovered up-and-coming novelist Marcoff and launched his writing career by first featuring him on Cartoon Infinity. Yu-San is also credited with creating a new style of cartooning known as Gonzo Cartooning, which according to Moon "blends life with art, the surreal with the real, and attempts to shock the reader into a state of discordance." It is unknown whether Moon's Gonzo Cartooning has to do with Gonzo Journalism, a concept attributed to journalist Hunter S. Thompson. However, Moon's works do depict tributes to Thompson, so there may be a link between the two.

Moon's drawing style, a blend of cute and obscene, satirizes a myriad of different political, religious and sociological issues. Mr. Moon's work has been featured on many web sites including Cartoon-Infinity.com, ToonPool.com, and NewHampshire.com. In addition to creating his cartoons, he also runs Cartoon-Infinity.com, a web-site dedicated to independent artists, cartoonists and comic creators from across the world.

On October 28, 2009, Yu-San Moon was involved in an altercation with Examiner.com freelance journalist, Marc Isacoff. In the interview, Mr. Moon attacked Mr. Isacoff and chased him off of his property. The altercation was prompted by Mr. Isacoff's misuse of Mr. Moon's extensive toy collection in his own article.
