Who was Abraham Benisch?
Abraham Benisch was a Hebraist and journalist.
He studied medicine at Vienna but abandoned his studies and moved to England in 1841. He was the editor of the Jewish Chronicle, 1854–69 and 1875-8 and zealously promoted the cause of his fellow Jews. He published several works on Hebrew literature.
