Who was Adolph Marx?
Adolph Marx was the first Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brownsville, in Brownsville, Texas.
Born in Cologne, Germany, Marx was ordained a priest for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christi on May 2, 1940. On July 6, 1956, Pope Pius XII appointed Marx auxiliary bishop of the Corpus Christi Diocese and he was ordained on October 9, 1956. On July 9, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed Marx of the Brownsville Diocese and he was installed on September 2, 1965. On November 1, 1965, Bishop Marx died suddenly.
