Who is Aida Mohamed?
Aida Mohamed is a Hungarian foil fencer of Hungarian and Arabic descent. She has competed at five Olympic Games from 1996 to 2012.
Mohamed won the bronze medal at the foil 2006 World Fencing Championships after she lost 15–3 to Valentina Vezzali in the semi final.
Aida trained for 23 years at the MTK sports club in Budapest, with fencing master Antal Solti. She changed clubs in 2009 and now she fences for Törekvés SE, but she still prepares with her old trainer. Aida is married to former Canadian Olympic pentathlete and épée fencer, Laurie Shong.
They have a daughter, Olívia, born in 2009.
