On May 30 of that year, he hit a home run in his first game at the Polo Grounds, and on July 5, he and his brother Tony, of the Brooklyn Dodgers, each hit home runs in the same game, joining a select club that includes Aaron and Bret Boone, César and Felipe Crespo, Héctor and José Cruz, Dom and Joe DiMaggio, Graig and Jim Nettles, and Rick and Wes Ferrell.
