Who was Albert Fry?
Albert Fry was a businessman and a member of the influential Bristol Fry family. Fry was the owner of the Bristol Wagon & Carriage Works Company Ltd which he acquired in 1851. He was important in the development of the drainage plow.
Today his name is associated with the University of Bristol because of his influence in the founding of the organization. One of the towers of a University building is known as the Fry tower.
