Who is Albert Van Zetten?

Albert Van Zetten is an Australian politician and the current Mayor of Launceston, Tasmania. He is also the current CEO of City Mission Launceston. He lives in Riverside with his wife Lyndle. He won his most recent term in office in contentious circumstances, winning the election by only a single vote in a recount.

He is well known for his opposition to the Bell Bay Pulp Mill. This runs contradictory to his support for an Eastern bypass, which was to be constructed for the purpose of easing traffic to and from the Pulp Mill, as well as other pro-development notions.
