Alberta Davis
Female, Deceased Person
1881 – 2007
Who was Alberta Davis?
Alberta Davis was the oldest American claimant.
Davis died at the claimed age of 125 years 34 days. Not including immigrants, Alberta had been the oldest ostensible American from 2001 until her death in 2007, an extraordinarily long time, and the first person to claim to be 125 years old made by a United States born person since 1995. She was African American, and lived in Thomson, Georgia. Despite claims of documentation, the only documents produced have been Social Security records, which are not considered as being proof of birth.
Census matches for "Alberta Davis" record one as age 33 in 1930 in the Augusta, Georgia area, and as 23 in 1920. However, as the family was unable to remember the names of her parents, siblings and even some children, no unequivocal matches have been located.
