Who was Albina Osipowich?

Albina Lucy Charlotte Osipowich was an American swimmer who won gold medals in the 100 m and 4×100 m freestyle events at the 1928 Olympics, setting world records in both events.

In 1933 Osipowich graduated from Pembroke College in Providence, Rhode Island, where she played field hockey and continued swimming as a hobby. After that she worked as a buyer at a department store and later married basketball player Harrison Van Aken.
