Who was Aleksandr Silayev?

Aleksandr Silayev was a Soviet sprint canoer who competed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. At the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, he won a silver medal in the C-1 1000 m event.

Silayev also won a gold medal in the C-2 10000 m event at the 1958 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Prague.

He competed for Dynamo Moscow.
