Who was Alexander Cherepkov?
Alexander Vasilyevich Cherepkov was a Soviet and Russian International Master of chess. He was champion of Leningrad three times: 1967, 1968, and 1982. He played in three Soviet finals, and was awarded his IM title at the age of 64 in 1984, one of the oldest players to have reached this standard.
