Who was Alfred Christopher Picard?
Alfred Christopher Picard was a 19th-century New Zealand politician.
He represented the Motueka and Massacre Bay electorate in the 1st New Zealand Parliament, but did not serve in any subsequent Parliaments.
Picard was born in London on 24 May 1824 and died in Motueka, New Zealand on 17 September 1855 of a heart disease. His death came only two days after the dissolution of the 1st Parliament. He married Mary Ann Askew on 10 July 1850 and they had two sons; William Alfred and John Thomas.
