Who was Alfred Layman?

Alfred Layman was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper who played for Kent. He was born in Norwood and died in Beckenham.

Layman made his only first-class appearance during the 1893 season, against Lancashire, against whom he scored just one run in the first innings, and a duck in the second.

Ten years later, Layman appeared in a single-innings match for Granville against London County, taking one stumping.
