Who was Alfred of Malmesbury?
Alfred, abbot of Malmesbury, England, and afterwards bishop of Crediton, was a writer of some celebrity in the tenth century. He composed a book, titled De Naturis Rerum, and is said to have written a history of his abbey. Some also have attributed to him a Life of Aldhelm.
