Who was Alice Stevenson?

Alice Stevenson was born at Piccadilly, England and became a British supercentenarian. She was the oldest recognised living person in the world between the death of 112-year-old Josefa Salas Mateo on 27 February 1973 and Stevenson's own death, aged 112 years 39 days when she died at Sutton, England. This made her the oldest Briton ever. Her record was broken by Anna Eliza Williams on 12 July 1985. Stevenson was the last remaining documented person born before 1863.
