Who was Allan Maclean of Torloisk?

Allan Maclean of Torloisk was a Jacobite who became a British Army General. He was born at a cottage built close to the site of the Duart Castle in Scotland from its scattered stones. He is best known for leading the 84th Regiment of Foot in the defence of Quebec without which Canada would have become a part of the United States of America.
