Who was André Strappe?
André Strappe was a French footballer who played striker, and later served as a manager.
During his career, Strappe played for Lille OSC, Le Havre AC, FC Nantes, and SC Bastia. He scored 116 goals in Ligue 1 and won the league tournament in 1954 with Lille. He also won the Coupe de France in 1953 and 1955 with Lille, and again with Le Havre in 1959.
He also played 23 matches and scored 4 goals for France. He participated in the 1954 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland. After retiring from play, he managed Bastia, Tavaux-Damparis, Châteauroux and Le Havre. He died at age 77.
