Who is Andrés Roemer?
Andrés Roemer is a Mexican diplomat, Consul General of Mexico in San Francisco, California, USA. Also he is journalist, civil servant and academic. A grandson of orchestra conductor Ernesto Roemer, he grew up in Mexico City and has become an opinion leader in political, social, economic and cultural matters. He has received various cultural awards and prizes, and has been the creator and producer of television programs including “Between the public and private” and “In the ring” broadcast on the TV Azteca network, and “Think about thinking”, “Roemer Report” and “Ciudad de las Ideas” on Project 40.
President of Poder Cívico, A.C. and, in association with Grupo Salinas, Curator and Foundator of the “City of Ideas Brilliant Minds International Festival”, which is annually organized in the Mexican state of Puebla.
Andrés Roemer has a Ph.D. in Public Policy from University of California at Berkeley, where he earned the Academic Distinction for his thesis regarding water Public Policies. He specialized on Cultural Policies, Law and Economics and Evolutionary Psychology.
