Female, Deceased Person

Who was Anna Hammar-Rosén?
Anna Hammar-Rosén was a Swedish newspaper office editor. She managed a popular paper in Gothenburg between 1773 and 1795 and is believed to be Sweden's first female newspaper editor.
In 1772, her husband Johan founded the newspaper Hvad nytt, hvad nytt? in Gothenburg, but died the year after, and Anna then took over the paper which she managed until 1795, for 22 years. It was a paper which included both news, politics and culture which was published two or three times a week. It was a popular and successful paper, though she herself said that she doubted a paper run by an uneducated female was much worth having. A lot of the most popular poets and writers of the Gustavian age published their works in her paper, among them Anna Maria Lenngren - it was one of the first papers which published her works.
