Who is Anoka Primrose Abeyrathne?

Anoka Abeyrathne, a humanitarian, environmentalist, diver and musician is an all-rounder who resides in Sri Lanka. Abeyrathne was an all-island finalist and gold medal winner in Solo Piano at the the Festival of Music affiliated with the British Festival of Music. In 2005, Abeyrathne represented her country in the Children's World Summit for the Environment held in Aichi, Japan. She was highly commended by "Write around the World", a worldwide essay writing competition organized by The Royal Commonwealth Society. She has done a survey regarding the Mangrove habitat and ecosystem of the Bolgoda Lake of Sri Lanka in order to mitigate the pollution and has started a major replantation drive to mitigate the destruction of Mangroves. With a strong background in Biology, she is currently following her academics while continuing her activism regarding current issues.
