Who was Archambaud VIII of Bourbon?
Archambaud VIII of Bourbon, nicknamed the Great, was a ruler of Bourbonnais in the modern region of Auvergne, France. His parents were Guy II of Dampierre, Seigneur de Dampierre, and Mathilde of Bourbon, the daughter of Archambaud of Bourbon and the granddaughter of Archambaud VII of Bourbon, Sire de Bourbon. He was succeeded by his son, Archambaud IX of Bourbon. His daughter Marie married John I of Dreux; another daughter, Margaret married Theobald I of Navarre and was the mother of Theobald II and Henry I.
