Who is Arkaitz Basterra Zalbide?

Arkaitz Basterra Zalbide (1974,) was born and brought up in Amorebieta-Etxano (near Bilbao,) Spain. After getting a degree and working in business for some years, he studied film directing at the New York Film Academy in 2003-04. The following year he completed the feature-length documentary AGIAN / MAYBE, about five Basque artists, which he had begun shooting in New York City in 2003, during performances they did there. He has recently completed a documentary film on the renowned film director Vojtech Jasny. He is also working on the script for a fictional film, which will be his third feature-length movie.
