Who was Arthur Douglas?
Arthur Gascoigne Douglas D.C.L. was Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney in Scotland from 1883 to 1905.
Ordained 1850, he served as a priest in Kidderminster, Southwark, Scaldwell and Shawick before he was elected Bishop of Aberdeen in 1883
He was the fifth son of George Sholto Douglas, 17th earl of Morton. He married, 17 April 1855, Anna Maria Harriet, youngest daughter of Richards Richards of Caerynch, co. Merioneth. By her, he had 3 sons and 6 daughters.
He was a participant in the consecration of St Mary's Church, Dalmahoy in 1850, where he was subsequently buried in 1905
