Who is Bacchelli?

Bacchelli is a Spanish singer who had a brief career in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and is best known for his participation in the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest.

Bacchelli performed at events such as the Benidorm International Song Festival in the late 1970s, and in 1980 released an album, Prohibido. In 1981, he was chosen internally by broadcaster TVE as the Spanish representative for the 26th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Y sólo tú". The contest was held on 4 April in Dublin, where "Y sólo tú" could only manage 14th place of the 20 entries.

Bacchelli was unable to capitalise on his Eurovision appearance; he released a second album, also titled Y sólo tú, but this failed to sell and shortly thereafter he retired from the music industry.
