Who was Bai Wanxiang?
Bai Wanxiang was Director of the Kuomintang's overseas secret police, the so-called Mainland Operations Office, from 1979 to 1986. Bai is chiefly remembered as the person suspected of masterminding the assassinations of Taiwan pro-democracy dissidents such as Henry Liu by KMT secret police. Bai is also known to have attempted to have Hsu Hsin-liang assassinated by Kung Fu star Jimmy Wang Yu during the 1980s.
