Who is Barry Cole?
Barry Cole is a British poet.
Apart from two years as Northern Arts Fellow in Literature at the universities of Durham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and two years in the RAF as a National Serviceman, he worked until 1995 as an editor at the Central Office of Information, and is now a freelance editor and writer.
He has published seven collections of poems and four novels. His poems appear in more than a dozen anthologies, including Philip Larkin's The Oxford Book of Twentieth Century English Verse and British Poetry since 1945.
Married, with three grown-up daughters, and four grandchildren, he and his wife Rita have lived for the past forty-seven years near Sadler's Wells Theatre, Islington.
