Who is BJ Anthony?

Benny Charles "B. J." Anthony, Jr. is a New Zealand professional basketball player. The cornerman was selected to join the New Zealand national basketball team squad on 17 August 2009 for the first time as an injury replacement for Jeremiah Trueman. He participated in the FIBA Oceania Championship 2009 for the New Zealand Tall Blacks, averaging 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the team. On 11 October 2011, the OceanaGold Nuggets announced that Anthony had signed a one-year contract to play for them in the 2012 season. He returned to the Nuggets for the 2013 season.

In January 2013, Anthony joined German team BBC Solarto Eagles Magdeburg for the rest of the 2012–13 season. He was subsequently named to the league's all-star five.

In his debut game with the Nuggets on 20 April 2013, Anthony recorded a career high 34 points to go with 12 rebounds in a 111-77 victory over the Super City Rangers. He was subsequently named Round 1 Player of the Week for his performance.
