Who was Bert Achong?

Bert Geoffrey Achong is a Trinidadian and Tobagonian of Chinese descent is best known for co-discovering the Epstein-Barr virus through use of electron microscopy. After excelling in school in Trinidad, Achong enrolled at University College Dublin, where he received his medical degree. He performed his post graduate studes at University of Bristol and worked at Lambeth Hospital in London in Clinical Pathology, while continuing as popular lecturer at the University of Bristol.
