Who was Bhim Sen Sachar?
Bhim Sen Sachar was an Indian politician. He was the Chief Minister of Punjab from April 13, 1949 to October 18, 1949 and again from April 17, 1952 to January 23, 1956.
He was a member of the Indian National Congress. In 1921 he was elected as the Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He later served as governor of Odisha from 1956 to 1957, and as governor of Andhra Pradesh from 1957 to 1962.
The veteran Indian journalist Kuldip Nayar is his son-in-law. His son Rajinder Sachar is a former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
