Who is Brendan Schwab?
Brendan Schwab is an Australian sports administrator and lawyer.
Schwab is the former Chief Executive of the Australian Professional Footballers' Association, the union for football players in Australia. Schwab has been a delegate to FIFPro since 2000, and is Chairman of FIFPro Asia.
He is also a former Vice President and board member of Australian rules football club Richmond. As a sports and industrial lawyer in the 1990s, he acted for the AFL Umpires Association in their pay dispute with the AFL, Associate Professor Braham Dabscheck in his review of the AFL Players' Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka.
He is the son of Alan Schwab, who was a prominent sports administrator and VFL commissioner, and the brother of Cameron Schwab, who is the chief executive officer of the Melbourne Football Club.
