Who is Butch Davis?

Wallace McArthur "Butch" Davis is a retired Major League Baseball outfielder.

Drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 12th round of the 1980 Major League Baseball Draft, Davis would make his Major League Baseball debut with the Kansas City Royals on August 23, 1983, and appear in his final game on July 31, 1994.

Davis made a brief cameo appearance in the 1988 film Bull Durham, starring Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.

Following his retirement as a player, Davis began his coaching career. He has been with the Baltimore Orioles minor league system for several years and is currently serving as their roving outfield instructor.

Davis is married with two children and lives in Garner, North Carolina. He is an alumnus of East Carolina University.
