Who was Carlos Pedrell?
Carlos Pedrell was an Uruguayan composer and educator. He was the nephew of Felipe Pedrell; he went to Spain to study with his uncle before traveling to Paris to work at the Schola Cantorum under Vincent d'Indy. Much of his career was spent in Argentina, where he taught at the National University of Tucumán and served as an inspector of schools in Buenos Aires. He returned to Paris in 1921. His output includes operas and ballets, and he is particularly remembered for his music for classical guitar.
