Who is Carol A Dibattiste?

Carol A. DiBattiste is a United States lawyer who served as United States Under Secretary of the Air Force from 1999 to 2001.

Carol A. DiBattiste joined the United States Air Force after graduating from high school in 1971. From 1971 to 1976, she served as an accounting and finance specialist and a recruiter for the Air Force. In 1976, she received a B.A. in sociology from La Salle University. She also graduated from Air Force Officer Training School in 1976, and was commissioned as an officer. She completed Squadron Officer School in 1977.

DiBattiste then attended the Temple University Beasley School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1981. She also completed training to work in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps in 1981. She spent 1981-85 working as a prosecutor for the JAG Corps. She spent 1985-1986 completing an LL.M. from Columbia Law School. From 1986 to 1989, DiBattiste was on the Faculty of the Air Force Judge Advocate General School at Maxwell Air Force Base, and from 1989 to 1991, she was chief recruiting attorney of the Office for Professional Development in the Office of the Judge Advocate General at the Pentagon.
