Charlotte Sharman was a Christian woman who ran orphanages for girls in West Square Southwark, Gravesend, Hampton and Tunbridge Wells. She, in the course of her lifetime, cared for and educated over 1,200 destitute children. The lady was an apostle of practical religion.
