Who is Christina Cáceres?

Christina Cáceres was born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico and came to the USA as a child, traveling back and forth for long winter and summer breaks. She trained at the University of Minnesota in both classical and jazz vocal styles. Some of the artists she has performed with are Cuban pianist/arranger/composer Nachito Herrera, percussionist/ vocalist Estaire Godinez, Alex Acuña, singer of Banda Relogio-Dandara, and Sheila E.. She also led her own group, Zafiro, which included Cuban pianist and music director Viviana Pintado.

She was voted 'best female vocalist' by entertainment magazine Vida y Sabor, and has also sang the national anthem at games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Twins. In 2005 she released an updated version of 1970s salsa hit "Tu no sabes querer", which was arranged and recorded with members of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. New collaborations in New York City include electro musician Alonzo, José Conde, and producer/artist Lesley Kühr, with their project Leilolai. She can be found in the singing in the local Latin New York scene.
