Who was Chuck Stobbs?
Charles Klein Stobbs was a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals.
He led the American League in walks per nine innings pitched in 1956 and led the American League in losses and earned runs allowed in 1957.
Stobbs is best remembered as the pitcher who gave up an estimated 565 feet home run to Mickey Mantle that flew entirely out of Griffith Stadium in 1953.
