Who is Clemens Binninger?

Clemens Binninger is a German politician and member of the CDU. Binninger is a member of the Bundestag. He was first elected in 2002 and then re-elected in 2005, 2009 and 2013. His electoral district is Böblingen.

He is full member of the committee of domestic affairs, the parliamentary committee that controls intelligence services and the NSU committee of enquiry. Before becoming member of the German parliament, Binninger used to work in police services and also as head of division in the department of the interior of the state of Baden-Württemberg. In April 2014, he was head of the German Parliamentary Committee investigating the NSA spying scandal but stepped down after six days.

Binninger is also member of the International Police Association and the German-American-center/James F. Byrnes Institute Stuttgart. He was rewarded for special accomplishments in constitutional law. Binninger is married.
