Who is Comita Nikola?
Nikola, Comita, was a Bulgarian nobleman who, by his wife Ripsimia, an Armenian, was father of Counts David, Moses and Aron, and of tsar Samuil of Bulgaria. He may have ruled Serdica or, according to other sources, was a local count in the region of modern Republic of Macedonia. His son Samuil ruled as emperor of the First Bulgarian Empire from 996 to 1014.
