Who is Con Roche?
Cornelius "Con" Roche is an Irish retired hurler and manager who played as a left wing-back for the Cork senior team.
Roche joined the team during the 1966 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1975 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal, three Munster medals, four National League medals and two All-Star awards. Roche was All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.
At club level Roche was a one-time All-Ireland medalist with St. Finbarr's. In addition to this he has also won two Munster medals and three county hurling championship medals.
In retirement from playing Roche became involved in team management and coaching. He served as coach of the Cork and Kerry senior hurling teams.
