Who was Dale Alexander?
David Dale Alexander, nicknamed "Moose," was a Major League Baseball player for the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox. Dale "Moose" Alexander was a 6 foot, 3 inch, 210 lb. first baseman. One of the American League's better hitters during his first four seasons, Alexander led the league in hits in 1929 and won a batting title in 1932, but a lack of defensive capability coupled with a leg injury ultimately cut short his Major League career.
