Who is Damon Rochefort?
Damon Rochefort is a Welsh musician, songwriter and writer.
He was born to Barry and Kaye Rochefort and has two brothers Steven and Jason and a sister, Leanne.
He has had success in music in the 1990s with his band, Nomad, with the international hits "I Wanna Give you Devotion" and "Just a Groove"; as well as writing and producing hits for Kim Wilde, Bad Boys Inc, Michelle Gayle and RuPaul. He is currently a script writer, starting with several episodes of Birds of a Feather, and is a writer for Coronation Street, writing over 150 episodes to 2012. He has also written several episodes of ITV's Britannia High, and has written the Coronation Street stage musical 'Street of Dreams' starring Paul O Grady, Kym Marsh, Katy Cavanagh and Jodie Prenger which opens in Manchester at the MEN in May 2012.
Rochefort was executive producer of 'Corrie Goes To Kenya' on ITV 1 in August 2012, a documentary series in which Rochefort took four members of the Corrie cast to Mombasa to work with SAFE, a Kenyan based charity which Rochefort is attached to, spreading HIV awareness through drama.
Rochefort is also script consultant on BBC 4's award winning comedy 'Getting On' starring Jo Brand, Vicky Pepperdine and Jo Scanlon.
