Daniel Golden

Who is Daniel Golden?

Daniel Golden is an American journalist, working as an editor at large for Bloomberg News. He was previously senior editor at Conde Nast's now-defunct Portfolio magazine.

As Deputy Bureau Chief at the Boston bureau of the Wall Street Journal he received the Pulitzer Prize for Beat Reporting in 2004 for a series of articles on admissions preferences in elite American universities, specifically relating to the enormous advantages enjoyed by more affluent white students, and the use of development cases. Golden is also a previous recipient of the 2003 George Polk Award for Educational Journalism.

He holds a B.A. from Harvard College.

He is the author of The Price of Admission: How America's Ruling Class Buys Its Way into Elite Colleges—and Who Gets Left Outside the Gates.
