Who was Daniel Z. Romualdez?
Daniel Zialcita Romualdez was a Filipino politician who served as Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines from 1957 to 1962.
He was named after his paternal grandfather, Daniel Romualdez, of Pandacan, Manila and former owner of the Malacañang Gardens, the huge expanse of land dedicated to entertaining guests of the Philippine presidents. Another namesake is a first cousin once removed, Daniel Gomez Romualdez, the New York architect and son of former ambassador and governor Benjamin Trinidad Romualdez.
