Who is Daniel Vallverdu?

Daniel Vallverdu has been part of Andy Murray's coaching team since 2010.

Vallverdu started hitting with Murray following his split from Miles Maclagan in 2010 and became the Scot's de facto coach after he parted company with Alex Corretja in March. Vallverdu organises practice sessions and liaises with Darren Cahill and Sven Groeneveld - coaches Murray has been working with recently - as well as his strength and conditioning staff and physiotherapist. Quiet and unassuming, Vallverdu scouts opponents and helps devise tactical plans. Despite his relative youth, he is known for his professionalism and in-depth knowledge of the game.

More recently Vallverdu works actively alongside Ivan Lendl, since Lendl joined Team Murray in 2012. Vallverdu was also selected to coach the British men's tennis team for the London Olympics 2012, in which Murray went on to win the Gold medal for Team GB.
