Darezhan Omirbaev is a Kazakhstani film director and screenwriter. He has directed nine films since 1982. His film Tueur à gages was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Un Certain Regard Prize. His latest film Student competed in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
