Who is Darren Barbier?

Darren Barbier was the head football coach for the Nicholls State University Colonels football team from 1995 to 1998. He compiled a record of 17–28. Barbier was given the Eddie Robinson Award in 1996 as the top NCAA Division I-AA College Football Coach of the Year when he guided the Colonels to an 8–4 record and a berth in the Division I-AA playoffs where his team would ultimately lose their first round game. The 1996 turnaround came one season after Nicholls State finished 0–11 and last place in their conference.
