Who is Darren Childs?

Darren Childs is the CEO of UKTV Media, a UK consumer media company, with award winning channels and original content. As a broadcaster, the company reaches over 42 million viewers per month, across multiple genres. The larger Entertainment brands include Dave, Gold, Watch, which cover comedy, scripted drama and crime drama.

The company has been been transformed since the aquistion of 50% of the business by US media company Scripps. This started a significant reinvestment in the business, with capitol deployed into original content spend, and digital transformation. UKTV Media also released its financial performance for the first time in 2013, and was featured by The Guardian as one of the top 20 European consumer media companies.

UKTV recent transformation has been recently featured in two books.

The Culture Builders and the approach to nurturing innovation was featured in The Science Of Serendipity. UKTV also published its first book in 2013 titled ''Imagination and Creativity in TV and Beyond", which featured thought leader pieces from Martha Lane Fox, Ed Vaizey, and Michel Roux Jr.
